Disability Officer
Christine Nguyen (she/her)
Hi all!
I’m Christine, currently studying first year of Master of Laboratory Medicine. Alongside my studies, I also work as a support worker, which has given me a real, first-hand understanding of the challenges students with disability and students with carer responsibilities often navigate day to day.
As your Disability and Carers Officer on the TUSA Equity Committee, my role is to represent the interests and concerns of students with disability and those with carer responsibilities, to make sure your voice is heard at every level. I’m here to listen, and to help point you toward the right support. I believe everyone deserves equal rights, the right to be heard, and the right to learn and grow in a healthy, fair, and inclusive environment.

Distance/Online Officer
Pamela Mykytowych (she/her)
Hello all. My name is Pamela and I have been studying online with UTAS since 2021. Following the inaugural Equity Committee being formed in 2024, I have continued to represent the Distance / Online cohort of students, who make up the majority of students enrolled at UTAS. However, I possess intersectionality with lived experience in that I am a woman, originally from the UK, and am a person with a disability plus I am a mature student. Given this, the Equity Committee gets five cohorts represented in one with me!
Much of my work thus far has been to push for greater transparency around the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF – the compulsory fee charged by UTAS to fund non-academic support services) allocation and secure “value for money” for distance / online students. I hope that distance / online students have noticed an ever-growing improvement in availability of services and events for them. This followed from the circular motion which went to TUSA’s Student Council in February 2025 and which was successfully passed.

Multicultural Officer

My name is Sam and I’m a bachelor of social work with honours student and a lover of people, animals, music, and all things social justice!
In my role as your TUSA Multicultural Officer I hope to help bring advocacy and action for us students through my collaboration with other students and my Equity Committee colleagues as well as drawing from my own lived experience through my Uni studies as a Tagalog, Filipinx, Queer, Migrant person.
I hope to help make everyone’s Uni experience as diverse and culturally safe and empowering as possible. I’m here to help so please feel free to reach out and for those who see me around campuses I always love a chat!

I’m Bea, a third year Arts (majoring in Sociology) and Science (majoring in Statistics and Decision Science) student. I also enjoy playing Irish music, social dancing, and going on bushwalks!
As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, it’s important to me that everyone at UTAS and within TUSA feels safe and respected no matter their gender or sexual identity. As the LGBTQIA+ officer, it is my job to advocate for our community’s needs within TUSA and at UTAS.

International Students Officer
Yeartiza Reza Sinan (he/him)
Hi everyone! I’m Yeartiza Reza Sinan, your International Students Officer at the Tasmania University Student Association (TUSA).
I’m currently studying a Bachelor of Design at the University of Tasmania. Living and studying in a new country is an exciting experience, but it can also come with challenges. My goal is to help make that journey easier by fostering a welcoming and supportive environment where international students can thrive.
I’m passionate about ensuring international students feel welcomed, supported, and represented throughout their time at UTAS. I believe every student should have access to the opportunities, resources, and support they need to succeed, regardless of where they come from.
As your International Students Officer, I’ll work alongside TUSA, the University, and fellow student representatives to advocate for the interests of international students, strengthen student engagement, and help build a connected and inclusive campus community. I also hope to create opportunities for students from different cultures to connect, share experiences, and develop a genuine sense of belonging at UTAS.
