Find a the new way of building confidence, improve fitness and meet new people surrounded by Latin American music style.

You love dancing and were looking for like-minded people? We are here! You’ve never tried dancing but always wanted to try? We will teach you!
You think that dancing is not for you and you are not for dancing? We will prove you it is not true!

The Social Dance Society has weekly dance classes, two parties a month, beach parties during the Summer, and a wonderful community. We are one of the biggest societies affiliated with TUSA (Tasmanian University Student Association), and have been Society of the Year every year since we started in late 2018.

We are known for our inclusive atmosphere, our killer parties, and our performance group Vista Latina!

Our weekly classes are on Tuesday nights at Mathers House (Hobart CBD). We offer different classes of social, bachata, kizomba and other Latin dance styles. No need to bring a partner, but do bring your friends!

As we often sell out, we ask you to sign up beforehand for five weeks of classes (to avoid disappointing people at the door). Follow up on social media to find out when our next block of classes starts, and register for classes via linktr.ee/usds. Any questions? Contact us via email by clicking on the letter box on the left-hand site of the webpage!

We organise about two parties a month – one on Tuesday night and one on the weekend. Every party has a free beginner drop in class beforehand, where you can learn the basics so you’re ready for the party. Our parties are free for members, so once you become a member you can join all our parties during the year for free. You can become a member at the door for $5 students / $10 non-students.

To become a member, register for classes, and find us on social media, check linktr.ee/usds
