The University Vegan Alliance, lutruwita (UVAL) aims to create a supportive environment for those interested in engaging in activities that foster empathy, understanding, and social change relating to non-human individuals. Central to this mission is the fact that animals are individuals, not commodities. UVAL recognises that animal exploitation is deeply embedded in society and seeks to aid in the transition to a plant-based, cruelty free, world. UVAL recognises this journey varies by individual and welcomes all members, from those who have a passing interest to those who have fully adopted a vegan philosophy.
