The Student Environment and Animal Law Society (‘SEALS) is a group of law and non-law students dedicated to protecting the environment and animals. We engage in issues of public concern and make submissions to the government on law reform issues. We also provide legal and professional skills development, networking opportunities, and community legal education by running panels, workshops, seminars and social events.

Our activities include:

  • Submission writing workshops
  • Opportunities to contribute to a formal submission with real impact
  • Expert panel discussions
  • Educational events in collaboration with the UTAS Environment
  • Society and UTAS Biological Sciences Club
  • Networking opportunities, both internal and external to UTAS

Come along to one of our regular meetings or keep an eye on our socials and the TUSA calendar for our upcoming events. If you want to learn how to draft an effective submission, hear about environmental law and policy careers, or meet like-minded people, SEALS is for you!
