At TUSA, we recognize that academic achievements are not the sole determinants of a successful life and career. We believe in supporting your university education by providing practical skills-based training and workshops that are relevant to your overall personal and professional development.
The TUSA Student Leaders Conference will be held on the 20th – 21st of November 2024 focused on skills development for our current and future student leaders within both TUSA and the University. All skills training sessions will be delivered by staff and students currently engaged in the student leadership space in their Clubs and/or Societies, elected and/or recruited roles.
Organised over 2 days, the conference will be hosted in-house at the Ref and various rooms in the TUSA Building, Sandy Bay Campus, & will offer a variety of skills-focused workshops, TUSA Programs and Initiatives. In addition, we will also be hosting this online via in-person meeting rooms at Launceston and Cradle Coast campuses for you to get together and participate as a group (rooms TBA).
This mandatory training will focus on all the aspects of your roles within C+S as well as training you in governance, marketing and management so you’ll be ready for your roles!
There are Core and Elective options we recommend attending everything (naturally) – ideally, we would like every C+S to have at least 1 current and 2 incoming executives at the core sessions, and one at each of the elective sessions. This is also open to C+S members who are interested in learning / might be considering future exec roles in your Club/Society (consider this as part of your succession planning)!
