Welcome to the Maths and Physics Postgraduate Student Society (PHAMOUS) — a supportive and social community for HDR students. Our society brings together postgraduate students from across mathematics and physics to foster collaboration, connection, and a sense of belonging during your research journey.
We host fortnightly morning teas on Fridays in the staff tearoom — a relaxed opportunity to catch up over coffee, share ideas, and unwind with fellow postgrads. Throughout the year, we also organise larger events, including writing retreats and informal gatherings designed to support both the academic and social sides of postgraduate life.
Whether you’re looking to make friends, share your research, or just enjoy a good cuppa, you’re always welcome at our events.
