Other ways to get involved…
We are also planning to roll out other ongoing initiatives, as well as continuing to connect students with resources, advocate for student concerns, and support and facilitate student-run clubs and societies.
Starting this year, we’ve got:
Buddy and Mentorship Program
Are you an online student that would like to be connected to peers that can help you stay accountable and engaged with your study? Or perhaps you would like to be a mentor or mentee and share relevant experience and knowledge.
The Buddy and Mentorship Program for online students will be a way for you to regularly catch up, perhaps have a coffee and discuss your goals.

Book & Movies Club
Book club is a great way to form connections with fellow online students, whilst also getting a chance to discuss interesting books and movies. As a bonus why not even kick back with a hot mug of coffee or glass of wine whilst you participate?

Shut Up & Write
Shut Up & Write started as an in-person study group for on campus post graduate students, with online students included. The group has had great success with regular faces coming back every week to read and review each other’s writing followed by quiet time to sit in silence and write. So, we thought, why not have a group specifically for online students and open it up to undergraduates that are enthusiastic about improving their writing!

Stay in the Loop
Our website offers a wealth of information including where to get started for new students, who to contact for help and which societies and clubs are available. We’ll also be running a number of fun online events this year such as Jackbox, trivia and a scavenger hunt. Make sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram so you don’t miss out.
You can also join the online group for online/distance students on Facebook to connect with other students: https://www.facebook.com/groups/UTASonline

Are you part of a club or society and would like to improve your online offerings?
We are in the process of putting together some tips and tricks to help guide you (watch this space). In the meantime, did you know that we can post your events to our website and across our platforms including Facebook and Instagram? Get in touch via our contact page.
