“Who are we?

Community Garden by Students for Students

We are a vibrant community garden dedicated to helping combat food insecurity among UTAS students. Our garden is a place where all students, regardless of background or experience, can come together to grow and harvest fresh, nutritious produce in a safe and inclusive space.

We proudly utilise circular gardening practices, ensuring all resources are reused and recycled within the garden while actively avoiding chemicals to maintain a healthy, natural environment.

Whether you have a green thumb or are new to gardening, S.L.U.G.S offers a welcoming environment where you can learn, share, and connect with fellow students.

Join us in our mission to create a healthier, food-secure & more resilient student community through the power of gardening!

Come & Join Us!

Every Saturday 1-4 pm

We are proud of our produce and invite all to come along and join us in the garden, learn about gardening and how we harvest to ensure continual growth, meet new people, and take a share of the harvest home to enjoy.

For only $5, you can become a member of the S.L.U.G.S community and enjoy harvest all year round! As a member, you’ll have access to our fresh produce, be part of our decision-making processes, and be invited to exclusive workshops and events.

If you are unsure if this is right for you, don’t worry—the first session is on us! The funds go directly into our garden, ensuring we can keep it growing and thriving for years to come!”
