Addressing Food Insecurity
Work to ensure all university students have sustainable access to nutritious food. To expand food relief supports to all campuses.

Investigating how to best ensure that students receive equitable access to those events, services, and programs paid for by SSAF. Continuing to fight for 40% SSAF for TUSA.

Rozelle Paramedicine First Aid/CPR Training Day
To provide accessible, affordable training on campus to students to ensure they are able to meet placement requirements.

Automatic and Centralised Extensions
Continued engagement with the University to ensure that extension requests are actioned consistently across the University and placing less importance on medical documentation as a form of evidence due to the financial costs that are then passed onto students.

Northern Campus Safety Concerns
Working with UTAS to address student safety concerns raised by Northern students. Recently held a student forum with UTAS management for students to raise concerns.

Student Access to Affordable Housing
Working to ensure that students have access to affordable & secure housing.
As part of this project, we participated in a petition to introduce an Empty Homes Levy in Tasmania. You can find more information on this, along with the government response, here.

Inter-Campus Transport in the South
Working with UTAS to improve the accessibility and availability of transport between the many locations across Hobart City, Sandy Bay, and Taroona. This includes communications with the Hobart City Council and with Metro about bike lanes and public transport, as well as with UTAS regarding parking facilities for every transport type, and the UniHopper.

Response to the UTAS Gender Based Violence Report
Lobbying the University to directly respond to the recommendations made by the Walker Report and to communicate an implementation timeline with students. Both representatives sit on the Working Group overseeing Action Plan creation and implementation.

All Gender Bathrooms
Ensure we have a clear map of current all-gender bathrooms across our UTAS campuses and work to ensure that we have bathrooms in each location that are accessible and safe for our trans, NB, and gender non-conforming student and staff populations.
